NEW DELHI: Money may not be able to buy happiness, but it’s always more comfortable to cry in a Bentley than on a bicycle. ETAuto lists the 10 most expensive cars available in India for you to cry and smile about, based on information provided by dealerships and company websites.

1. Bugatti Veyron Grand Sports: The Bugatti Veyron tops the chart of India’s most expensive cars with a price tag of Rs 38 crore. It is available within 6-8 months after an order is placed, depending on the level of customisation. The sports car comes with an 8.7-litre engine producing 987 bhp of power at the rate of 6000 rpm and generates 1250 Nm maximum torque at the rate of 2200-5500 rpm coupled with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. The car, which takes only 2.7 seconds to touch 100 kmph, has a top speed of 407 kmph and a mileage of 3.3 kmpl on city roads and 5.3 kmpl on highways. The Grand Sport’s body consists of a carbon fibre monocoque suspended from an aluminium frame in the front and a carbon fibre/stainless steel frame in the rear, making it safer and luxurious.

2. Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II: The Phantom Series II is available in two versions – the standard wheelbase priced at Rs 8 crore and the extended wheelbase, which starts at Rs 9 crore. The car is available within 4-6 months of placing the order, depending on the level of customisation. Both are powered by a 6.7 litre V2 petrol engine, which produces maximum power of 453bhp @ 5350 rpm, giving maximum torque of 720 Nm @ 3500 rpm with 8-speed automatic gear shifts. The epitome of luxury and class is no less than any sports car and can race from 0 to 100 kmph in a mere 5.9 seconds, with a top speed of 240 kmph.

3. Bentley Mullsane: The Mullsane comes at a starting price of Rs 7.5 crore. It is available in the petrol variant, powered by a 6.8-litre 505bhp twin turbocharged V8 engine, producing 505 bhp @ 4200 rpm maximum power that generates 505 bhp @ 4200 rpm with 8-speed automatic gear shifts. The luxury car can go up to 296 kmph (top speed) and from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.3 seconds. It has loads of features such as an eight-inch multi-media screen, audio/video and Bluetooth connectivity with Naim audio system, which boasts of a 2,200 watt amplifier (the most powerful in a production car) and 20 custom-made speakers. The car has a Dynamic Drive Control system, which allows the driver to choose from one of four settings on suspension rates and steering feel.

4. Lamborghini Aventador: The Aventador is priced at Rs 5.36 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai). The sports car is powered with a 6498 cc petrol engine with a 7-speed automatic gear box that gives maximum power of 690.62 bhp @ 8250 rpm and produces 690Nm @ 5500 rpm with a top speed of 350 kmph. The Aventador can touches 100 kmph in 3 seconds.

5. Rolls Royce Wraith: The luxury, four-seater coupe Wraith is priced at Rs 4.6 crore. Under the hood is a twin-turbo V12 engine coupled with an eight-speed automatic ZF transmission. The engine is powerful enough to generate 624 brake horse power and 800 Nm of torque and can attain 100 kmph in 4.6 seconds. The car’s features include head-up display, adaptive headlights, keyless boot opening, camera system, voice activation commands and route assistance. It has a wide rear track, shorter wheelbase and lower roof height and is seated on 21-inch, five-spoke, part-polished wheels which feature self-righting RR monogram.

6. Aston Martin Vanquish: The grand tourer from Aston Martin is priced at Rs 3.8 crore. The Vanquish is equipped with AM29 V12 (6-litre, 48 valve V12 petrol) engine, which produces maximum power of 565 bhp @ 6750 rpm and generates 620 Nm of torque @ 5500 rpm with a 6-speed gear box. The Vanquish can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 295 kmph.

7. Bentley Flying Spur: The Flying spur comes with two petrol engine variants – V8 and W12. The V8 has a 4-litre, 500 bhp 32V V8 engine which produces maximum power of 500 bhp @ 6000 rpm that generates 660Nm @ 1700 rpm torque with an 8-speed gear box. The Flying Spur V8 can touch a top speed of 295 kmph and can go from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.2 seconds. This variant is priced at about Rs 3.2 crore, depending on the customisation level. The W12 comes with a 6-litre, 616 bhp 48V twin turbocharged W12 Engine, producing 616 bhp @ 6000 rpm maximum power that generates 800 Nm @ 1700 rpm of torque with 8-speed automatic gear shifts. The car’s top speed is 320 kmph and can move from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.6 seconds.

8. Porsche 911 Turbo S: The coupe from Porsche is priced between Rs 2.8 crore and Rs 3 crore. The 911 Turbo S is delivered within 7-10 months. The luxury coupe is powered by a 3.8 litre, 24V petrol engine, which churns out 560 bhp power @ 6500-6750 rpm, producing 700 Nm torque at 2100-4500 rpm with a 7-speed gear box. With a top speed of 318 kmph, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.1 seconds.

9. Ferrari California: The Ferrari California is expected to be priced at between Rs 3 crore and Rs 5 crore. It comes with a twin-clutch gearbox with a front-engine 4.3 litre V8 that churns out 482.7 bhp @ 7750 rpm and 505 Nm @ 5000 rpm with a 7-speed auto-shift manual w/OD and auto-manual gears. The performance sports car can go up to 312.2 kmph and takes 3.7 seconds to touch 100 kmph. Ferrari has extended its official presence in India by appointing two dealers in Delhi and Mumbai.

10. Audi R8 LMX: This is a limited edition Audi super car, with production restricted to 99 vehicles globally, priced at Rs 2.97 crore (ex-showroom Delhi/Mumbai). The R8 LMX comes with a 5.2 litre, V10 engine which churns out hp (419 kW) of power and 540 Nm (398.3 lb-ft) of torque enabling the car to accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.4 seconds. A 7-speed S-tronic transfers the power to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system, allowing a top speed of 320 kmph
