Yes, this is the second 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB/C to come to auction at Gooding & Company in as many years. The one offered at the 2017 Pebble Beach sale had the same estimate and commanded $14.5 million. But don’t get the wrong idea. It’s unwise to wait and see if Gooding will have a third at Pebble Beach in 2019, seeing as Ferrari only made 12 of these cars in total. This matching-numbers machine once belonged to the pioneering Ferrari collector Albert Obrist, and in its early years it competed at Nassau, Daytona, and Sebring. Better still, the left-hand-drive Ferrari hasn’t been shown in public for more than a decade, making it a fresh entrant for the Pebble Beach concours, the Le Mans Classic, and similar high-profile events.
