The chassis design is new, as well as the nose, front wing, front suspension and rear suspension. We want to compete in the development race this season and this car is designed to do just that.

Aggressive design. Evolved.

Cutting through the air at speeds of more than 220mph, the front wing powerfully directs airflow across all the aerodynamic surfaces and is crucial to the performance of the car.

The AMR24 features a revised front wing and nose design for more effective and efficient management of wake from the 18-inch front wheels.

The front wing and nose work in tandem with the over-wheel winglets to control the front-wheel wake and direct it away from the bodywork to help increase downforce at the rear of the car.

The floor is the biggest area of downforce generation on an F1 car and it’s constantly being evolved. Getting it right will be of paramount importance to our success in 2024.

Pushing for more

Suspension has two key roles to play: control of weight transfer for optimum cornering ability, and ensuring as much of the tyre is in contact with the track surface as possible for more grip and earlier throttle application.

The AMR24 features a push-rod suspension layout at both the front and rear with the wheel assembly joined to the chassis by a diagonal structure at a higher point on the car’s body.

The front suspension has been improved to boost performance in conjunction with the changes to the front wing and floor. The rear suspension has been optimised to maximise the efficiency of airflow around the rear wing. These optimisations have also enhanced the design of the diffuser and floor and elegantly accommodate Mercedes’ latest power unit and eight-speed, semi-automatic gearbox.
