Each PPE has a specific use, and it is made of specialized materials. PPE includes safety helmets, gloves, eyeglasses, earplugs, full-body suits, vests, hard hats, safety footwear, and Respiratory protective equipment (RPE).

Three steps that can be taken are maintain your PPE in top form, know how to properly use your gear, routinely inspect your PPE for signs of wear. Personal protective equipment, or "PPE," is clothing worn to reduce exposure to risks that might result in significant workplace diseases and injuries.

PPE includes gloves, gowns, laboratory coats, face shields or masks, eye protection, resuscitation masks, and other protective gear such as hats and booties.

Face masks, goggles, dust masks, respirators, hearing protection, proper gloves for specific tasks, ventilation devices for airflow, and dust collectors are recommended.
