Deep Rock Galactic has tons of options available to customize your experience, whether you’re playing for the first time or you’re a pro. With the Special Edition release date on the way, it’s a great time to jump in. Make sure to check out if the game is available with Game Pass. But, if you’re just looking for a full class tier list for Deep Rock Galactic, you’ve come to the right place.
Class Tier List in Deep Rock Galactic
There are four classes to choose from in Deep Rock Galactic: Gunner, Scout, Driller, and Engineer. Here’s how they stack up against each other:

The good news about Deep Rock Galactic is that none of the classes are a bad pick. It’s completely up to your playstyle which you prefer, and they all are useful. However, some have to come out on top.
S Tier Classes
The Engineer is our top pick for the best class in Deep Rock Galactic. This versatile class starts you off with a grenade launcher and a shotgun, which are incredibly useful both in solo and co-op. The Engineer can set up turrets as well, which can take out waves of Glyphids with ease. The best part of the Engineer, though, is the Platform Gun. This gun allows you to create your own platforms while deep within the caves, making for easier escapes and better paths for the whole team. You can also save other players from fall damage by creating a platform right beneath them. How generous!
The Scout also rightfully belongs in the S Tier, if only for its sheer mobility. This class is the most lightweight of all the dwarfs. Keeping the team moving and taking out the swarm of alien nightmares is what this class is all about. Plus, collecting materials is much quicker with the Scout class. You also get the Grappling Hook, allowing you to escape danger quickly by grappling up to previously unreachable ledges. He also comes with a Flare Gun to see paths better.

The Scout class is great for getting a first look at the cave before your team descends into the madness, due to its high mobility, Flare Gun, and Grappling Hook.
A Tier Class
For the A Tier, We’ve gone with the Driller. This dwarf is, as you probably guessed, all about drilling. He’s able to dig up the caves much quicker than the others. It’s by far the best class for those who want to explore. But, that doesn’t mean the Driller isn’t capable of destroying alien bugs with ease. The Flamethrower weapon is incredible for crowd control. Plus, making new paths for your team is easy by drilling through areas. While the Driller is by no means a shabby choice, he’s in A Tier due to him being not as good in solo play.
B Tier Class
Last but certainly not least is the Gunner. This heavyweight is all about guns and protection for the team. He’s able to put up shields with the Shield Generator that provide great protection for all players. However, the minigun the Gunner uses mows down enemies with ease. His low mobility is what put him in B Tier, but with the Zipline Launcher this class comes with, it makes for a steady way to get out of danger for not only yourself but the whole team.
As we said above, there isn’t a class that’s bad in Deep Rock Galactic. Each one has its pros and cons, and when you’ve got a full team of all four, you’ll be amazed at how much you can get done. I’ve personally found that getting good and leveling up all the classes is the most rewarding way to play the game.

The best class is the Engineer. This class provides a great balance of mobility and power. It’s great for when you’re playing on your own, and when you’re playing with a team. The Platform Gun also makes for one of the most amazing tools in the game.
