What is in the Golden Eagle drink at Dutch Bros? ›

The Golden Eagle® is a creamy breve featuring bold espresso, half and half, vanilla syrup and caramel sauce, then topped with whipped cream and a caramel sauce drizzle. Available hot, iced or blended, making it a versatile drink for any day!

The Breve is a rich and creamy espresso-based drink made with steamed half-and-half instead of milk. This higher fat content results in a velvety texture and slightly sweet flavor, setting it apart from other espresso beverages.

Caramel Sauce: Dutch Bros uses the Torani brand for its sauces and syrups. However, you can use any type that you have available.

A breve (pronounced breh-vey) is an espresso based drink made with steamed half-and-half — a light cream. It resembles a small latte but made with cream instead of milk.

A breve latte is made with half-and-half (a combination of cream and milk), whereas a regular latte is made with whole or 2% milk. The higher fat content in half-and-half contributes to a breve's velvety and slightly sweet taste.

The Flavor

Breve coffee is a blend of flavors in a cup. At its heart is the boldness of espresso, rich and commanding. Then, the half-and-half enters, softening the espresso's edges with its creamy, smooth texture. This combination creates a luxurious and balanced taste – not too bitter, not too sweet.

Ingredients: 1 tablespoon Torani Sugar-Free Vanilla Syrup (feel free to use regular sugar Vanilla Syrup) 2-3 shots of espresso. 6-8 ounces half & half.

The syrup is sweeter and thin, the sauce is richer and thick. (The sauce is the one we use to make our signature Caramel Macchiatos.)

A typical cafe breve usually contains 6 ounces of liquid. This can vary depending on how much espresso and half-and-half are used to make the drink and any additional ingredients that may be added. Generally, you should aim for a 1:1 ratio between the two main components for an optimal cup.

The FDA recommends consuming no more than 400 milligrams of caffeine a day which is about 6 espresso shots. To get the health benefits while staying within the healthy limit, try to stick to less than that. It's important to remember that caffeine tolerance varies from person to person.

The historic Fayette building remains the home of Golden Eagle Syrup today. Each jar continues to be hand tightened as it was in 1928, ensuring that tradition is honored in every jar that leaves the building. Golden Eagle Syrup is a unique blend of corn syrup, cane sugar syrup, cane molasses and pure honey.
