Oven-to-Table Bowls (2024)

A year and a half ago, just after we finished the Lodge, I grabbed a small stack of small square bowls while on a grocery excursion to The Wal Marts. They were inexpensive and cute (I’m a sucker for square dishes) and…well…I was at Wal Mart. The impulse buy is the name of the game there.

I couldn’t have predicted how much I’d use the little bowls over the past several months.

I used them the other day, when I made macaroni and cheese, and I use them for everything from Creme Brulee to Risotto.

I love them!

Here’s the small size (picture above) the one I use for individual portions of pasta.

The other night, while at The Wal Marts picking up a last minute birthday gift for my girl, I picked up a few of the medium size bowls. Perfect for huge portions of Cocoa Puffs!

And huge portions of pasta, for that matter.

Don’t be like me.

I’m really excited about this one, though. It’s huge! Definitely supposed to be a serving bowl…

But if I’m ever in the mood for half a box of cereal in one sitting, I’ll know which bowl to use!

What’s really great about these bowls is that they’re oven-proof and super-heavy.

You can bake everything from individual portions of potatoes au gratin to chocolate lava cakes.
