A recent study by casino website Bonus Finder used hashtags to find the most Instagrammed landmarks in America and each state.
The ranking found that the most picturesque place in West Virginia, by far, is Harpers Ferry National Historic Park. The #1 place is unsurprising; Harpers Ferry appeals to almost everyone, whether you’re an outdoor adventurer or a history buff. Several 2023 studies also found that it is the most haunted place in West Virginia and the most Christmassy town in West Virginia.
The full top five for West Virginia were:
- Harpers Ferry National Historic Park
- Blackwater Falls State Park
- Dolly Sods Wilderness
- The Greenbrier Resort
- Coopers Rock State Forest
Last year, a tourism company that conducted a similar study found that Seneca Rocks was the most Instagrammable spot for 2023.
