Ford Australia and Rare Spares have announced a landmark partnership to supply a range of officially licensed Ford restoration parts for older model cars, with the launch of the partnership held at Ford's Campbellfield HQ today.
Under the new program, called 'Ford Restoration Parts by Rare Spares', Ford will supply Rare Spares with access to original Ford tooling to manufacture and sell officially licensed restoration parts in Australia, stretching from the company's first Ford Falcon, the 1960 XK, through to the 1984 XF.
"We are very excited to be working with Rare Spares to help keep these iconic Ford vehicles on the road," said Bob Graziano, President and CEO of Ford Australia.
"Ford has a very iconic place in the history of Australian culture, and under this new agreement, Rare Spares are able to help enthusiasts restore their classic vehicles to their former glory and continue to pay tribute to Ford Australia's heritage."
Through the Ford Restoration Parts by Rare Spares program, classic car enthusiasts will now have access to authentic Ford badges, decals, wheel caps and trims, window, door and boot seal rubbers, engine and cooling components, electrical components, lamps and lenses.
"This is an exciting opportunity for Rare Spares to further cement our position in Australasia as the leading supplier of Ford restoration parts," said Rare Spares General Manager, David Rayner.
"Both Ford Australia and Rare Spares recognise the importance of keeping the heritage of Ford products alive.
"We are very excited to work with Ford's engineers and sales staff to continue helping Ford enthusiasts live their dreams of owning and restoring classic Fords."
Ford's General Manager of Ford Customer Service Division, Stephen Kruk, said Ford enthusiasts were passionate about their vehicles and maintaining them in good condition.
"This alliance provides some peace of mind for both our enthusiasts and general Ford customers seeking authentic parts for their vehicles," Kruk said.
"Classic Ford vehicles are becoming rarer and in some cases, parts are becoming more difficult to find, so the Ford Restoration Parts by Rare Spares program is a welcome move."
Rare Spares are the only official license holder for Ford restoration parts in the Southern Hemisphere.
Rare Spares Ford Restoration Parts will be available in all Rare Spares distributor stores across Australia and New Zealand, and on the Rare Spares online store.
