Not sure if this is the right place for this . . . I’ve searched these forums but haven’t found anything about these annoying popups that appear on so many websites and offer to sign us in through Google.
If you search the web with a search term similar to the one I have for subject above you will get a lot of hits from around this time last year up through recent times, like this one:.
Most of those hits give the same procedure which is to sign-in to your Google account, go to the Security section, go to ‘Signing in to other sites’, go to ‘Signing in with Google’, and turn off the ‘Google Account sign-in prompts’ slider. Supposedly this is a one-time tweak that covers all browsers on all devices.
Unfortunately when I go to my Google account on a number of different devices there is no ‘Signing in to other sites’ section. Instead I see only a ‘Sign in to Google’ section and it has no slider to turn off prompts nor anything at all about prompts. Google’s links to search Help on this topic are not helpful.
(I’ve seen posts that provide tweaks to uBlock Origin that they claim will stop these popup prompts. But even if that works it requires tweaks to uBO in all your browsers on all your devices . . .)
Key Takeaways. Go to myaccount.google.com, navigate to Security > See All Connections, then click the gear icon. Disable the toggle next to "Google account Sign-in Prompts" to remove sign-in prompts from websites. Certain websites show a "Sign in with Google" prompt to help you quickly sign in to that website.
To disable the Sign in with Google sign-in prompt on Android, go to your Sign in with Google settings and turn off Google Account sign-in prompt. Visit your browser to disable additional prompts.
Google may ask you to verify your account for security reasons, especially if it detects unusual activity. Regardless of whether you want to change your phone number or disable two-step verification, you need to log in to your Google account first. If you can't log in, you won't be able to make any changes.
Many modern websites allow users to make Google and Facebook logins when making an account. The point of this option is to offer a convenient login solution to users who may not want to sign in with an email address. It's a fast and straightforward solution that appeals to anyone who regularly uses Facebook or Google.
If Google keeps signing you out when you'd rather stay logged in, here are a few tips: Make sure your cookies are turned on. Some antivirus or related software may delete your cookies. If your cookies are turned on, clear your browser's cache.
At the top, tap Security.Under "How you sign in to Google," tap 2-Step Verification.Select Turn off. A pop-up window will appear to confirm that you want to turn off 2-Step Verification.
