What is the average age of the ACBL members? ›

The average age of the ACBL's 167,000 members hovers around 73, as the league is filled mostly with players who learned in the 1950s, '60s and '70s. As that cohort got older, they continued to fill the halls of bridge clubs around the country.

How do I contact the American Contract Bridge League? ›

The ACBL is available Monday through Friday 8 a.m-4:30 p.m. CST, 662-253-3100. You can check on your masterpoint holdings, or leave a message about your magazine, dues status or other concerns, and your call will be returned within 24 hours (excluding weekends and holidays).

How many ACBL master points do I have? ›

What is the ACBL bridge scoring program? ›

ACBLscore® is software used by clubs to score duplicate bridge and report results to the ACBL. ACBLscore® will handle almost any variation of movement, including individual. It can rank a stratified game with up to three strata, and can score by matchpoints, IMPs or Swiss Teams.

Unlike poker, chess, even backgammon, top-tier bridge events don't have prize money. Instead, professional players make money through the patronage of other, well-heeled bridge enthusiasts.

How long does it take to become a good bridge player? ›

You can get to grips with the game very easily and learn the rules within a session or two. If you're looking to get really good and take things to the next level, it'll probably take about a year. There are 50,000 Junior Masters. Next come Masters, National Masters, Senior Masters, Advanced Senior Masters and, finally, Life Masters. There are 3,200 of these last, and they have 300 points or more, at least 30 of which are red points.

How to get silver points in ACBL? ›

Silver points are awarded for success in events at sectional tournaments. Progressive sectionals and Sectional Tournaments at Clubs (STaCs) also award silver points.

What is the difference between BBO points and ACBL points? ›

Only those points won in sanctioned ACBL games can count as official ACBL points. You can win points in other tournaments on BBO, and although they will count as BBO points and will be considered in raising the number (or letter) on your profile, they will not be able to be added to your ACBL point totals.
